Android Oreo – The Next Android Version After Nougat?
Android Oreo is possibly the next version of Android, after Android Nougat. It is not confirmed but who knows, when Google had made a partnership with Nestle for Android KitKat, it could do that for Oreo as well. There are no other real good names out there so Oreo has a big chance to get that name for the next Android OS version.
The previous versions got good names and thus, the expectations will be big for it. In fact, it is the same person from Google who teased Android Nutella but that didn’t happen, and the same person now teased Android Oreo. Who knows, it could have the same fate, but again who knows, it could really get this name.

Android O Release Date
While the release date is not yet known, we surely know that the next version of Android is going to be announced at the Google I/O event this year. The new version will be announced with some exciting features and Google is going to include a lot in terms of artificial intelligence in the Android O or Android Oreo version. The Android Nougat was considered a great upgrade with improvements to the battery life as well, but a lot more will be seen ahead.
As we all know that the preview version of Android ‘O’ is already out there, the word behind the ‘O’ has remained mysterious till now. And, the logo of the Android ‘O’ makes it even more complex to guess what it will be named by. As usual, the preview version of the Android ‘O’ was launched 2 months before the official roll out in Google I/O. The preview version has arrived for Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and Nexus Player. Here, we’ll be having all the data regarding the Android ‘O” and its features.

Notifications shade
The notification panel in the Android ‘O’ is a little different from its previous versions. Dragging down the notification shade, you’ll find that the toggle bar takes up a little more space on the screen than on the older versions and the toggles are slightly rearranged as that in the Android ‘N’. The font of the Date and time is also changed and made more condensed making the status bar icons more visible. And now the notification’s settling down animation is also changed a bit and looks cooler now.
The notifications look the same as that of Android ‘N’. If you long press on the notification, there pops out a switch for disabling or enabling the notifications for that app. You can snooze the notifications from that app for a certain period such as 15/30/60 min based on your preference.
Quick Settings
In the quick settings section, you will still see the difference between the colors in the Pixel and Nexus devices. Again, in the quick settings, things have been changed a bit. In here, the Wi-Fi, Cellular data, Bluetooth, and DND have dual functioning icons. You can tap the icon to toggle the setting on or off and clicking the heading will take you the settings of the particular app. These settings which have the dual function are underlined in their name. The other settings which don’t have the underline open up the mini settings of theirs wherever you tap it. And, just like in the Android ‘N’, you can edit the Quick settings and you can also add another page in there.
App Badges
Basically, what the app badges show is the number of the notifications in that app. This is the first time the stock Android is getting the App badges. Before that, if you have used any devices doesn’t run on stock Android but the maker’s custom UI, you might have known it. Out of many devices which haha
